Congress Leader Jitu Patwari Highlights Farmers’ Issues, Mentions 24-Hour Protest in Madhya Pradesh

Date:

BHOPAL, MADHYA PRADESH — Madhya Pradesh Congress President Jitu Patwari has reiterated his party’s commitment to raising the concerns of farmers, stating that the Congress has been consistently voicing their issues and recently organised a 24-hour protest to highlight their grievances.

Speaking in Bhopal, Patwari said that farmers in the state are facing multiple challenges, and it is the responsibility of political parties to ensure that their voices are heard. He emphasised that agriculture remains a crucial sector, supporting a large section of the population, and any distress among farmers has a direct impact on the economy and society.

He stated that the Congress party has been actively fighting for farmers’ rights, raising issues related to crop prices, compensation, procurement, and overall support for the agricultural community. According to him, farmers have been expressing concerns about various policies and their implementation, which require immediate attention.

Patwari highlighted that the party recently carried out a 24-hour protest as a way to draw attention to the problems faced by farmers. He said that the protest was aimed at putting pressure on the state government to address these issues and take concrete steps to provide relief.

He further said that such protests are an important part of the democratic process, allowing citizens and political groups to express their concerns peacefully and demand accountability. He added that the Congress will continue to organise similar efforts if farmers’ issues are not adequately addressed.

The Congress leader pointed out that farmers are dealing with challenges such as rising input costs, fluctuating market prices, and delays in procurement, which affect their income and livelihoods. He stressed that these issues need to be resolved through effective policies and timely action by the government.

Patwari also emphasised the importance of ensuring fair prices for crops, stating that farmers should receive proper compensation for their produce. He said that without fair pricing, it becomes difficult for farmers to sustain their operations and support their families.

He added that the Congress party is committed to standing with farmers at every stage, whether it is through raising their concerns in public forums or engaging with the government to find solutions. He said that the party believes in working towards policies that support the agricultural sector and improve farmers’ welfare.

The leader also called for better implementation of government schemes, stating that benefits often do not reach farmers effectively due to administrative challenges. He said that improving delivery mechanisms is essential to ensure that farmers receive the support they are entitled to.

Observers note that farmers’ issues continue to be a major political topic in Madhya Pradesh, with both ruling and opposition parties focusing on agriculture-related concerns. Statements like Patwari’s reflect the ongoing debate over policies and their impact on the farming community.

Patwari reiterated that the Congress will continue to raise its voice both inside and outside the legislature, ensuring that farmers’ concerns remain a priority in political discussions. He said that sustained efforts are necessary to bring about meaningful change.

He also urged the government to engage in dialogue with farmers and address their grievances in a timely manner, stating that cooperation between all stakeholders is essential for resolving issues effectively.

The Congress leader concluded by reaffirming his party’s commitment to protecting farmers’ interests and ensuring their welfare, adding that agriculture must remain at the centre of policy decisions.

The statement by Jitu Patwari highlights the continued focus on farmers’ issues in Madhya Pradesh, with the Congress positioning itself as an advocate for agricultural rights and welfare through protests and political engagement.
