“The End of Fear”: Ravi Kishan Hails BJP’s Historic Surge in West Bengal

Date:

BHOPAL, MADHYA PRADESH — As the results of the 2026 West Bengal Assembly elections sent shockwaves through the national political landscape, BJP MP and popular actor Ravi Kishan addressed the media in Bhopal to offer a celebratory and sharp critique of the outgoing administration. Terming the election outcome a “liberation,” Kishan’s remarks emphasized a significant shift in the state’s cultural and political identity.

Standing before reporters on Monday, May 4, 2026, Kishan described the BJP’s performance—which saw the party cross the majority threshold—as a testament to the “end of fear” for the people of Bengal.

A Mandate for “Sanatani” Identity

Kishan attributed the party’s success to a collective spiritual and cultural awakening. He noted that the electorate, particularly those he identified as “Bengali Hindus and Sanatanis,” had been waiting for an opportunity to reclaim their heritage.

The actor-politician argued that the mandate was a direct response to years of “intimidation, corruption, and political violence.” He claimed that the “volcano” of public anger—particularly regarding the safety of women and administrative oversight—had finally erupted at the ballot box.

Strategic Leadership and the “Double Engine” Vision

During his address, Kishan was quick to credit the top leadership of the Bharatiya Janata Party for the electoral breakthrough. He highlighted the “meticulous planning” of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the “resolute strategy” of Home Minister Amit Shah.

  • Strategy and Security: Kishan specifically pointed to Amit Shah’s decision to maintain a high level of security and the strategic deployment of central forces as a key factor that allowed voters to participate without the threat of violence.
  • A New Beginning: He suggested that the voters had shown overwhelming faith in PM Modi’s vision for development, often referred to as the “Double Engine” government, which promises to align the state’s progress with national goals.

High Turnout: A Sign of Change

The 2026 West Bengal elections recorded a historic voter turnout, exceeding 92%, the highest since independence. Kishan viewed this high participation as an endorsement of the BJP’s promises, including economic reforms and social welfare schemes.

Earlier in the campaign, Kishan had also touched upon unique issues, such as the “fish scarcity” narrative, famously telling supporters that after the results on May 4, they would “eat four times more fish” as the BJP would streamline supply chains from other NDA-governed states like Uttar Pradesh and Bihar.

Political Context in Bhopal

Kishan’s presence in Bhopal underscores the national importance of the Bengal results. While local administrative issues—such as the recent Congress protests at Taran Pushkar—have kept the capital’s police on high alert, the BJP’s victory in the East has provided a significant morale boost for the ruling party’s workers in Madhya Pradesh.

Kishan concluded his briefing by reiterating that the “Lotus has bloomed from Gangotri to Ganga Sagar,” signaling that the party views the 2026 Bengal win as a foundational shift that will influence the trajectory of Indian politics for years to come.

As the Election Commission finalizes the official count—with trends showing the BJP leading in over 156 seats—Kishan’s celebratory tone reflects a party that believes it has finally cracked the code to one of India’s most complex political environments.
