Mohan Yadav Announces 4x Land Compensation for Farmers in Madhya Pradesh..

Date:

BHOPAL, MADHYA PRADESH — Chief Minister Mohan Yadav announced a major decision taken by the state cabinet aimed at benefiting farmers, especially those whose land is acquired for development projects.

Speaking in Bhopal, Yadav said that the government has decided to provide four times the compensation for land acquired in rural areas, as per updated guidelines. He described the move as an important step taken in the interest of farmers and rural communities.

He explained that the decision comes after recognising the gap in land valuation between rural and urban areas. According to him, this difference had been affecting both farmers and the progress of major development projects in the state.

“To address this issue, we have made necessary amendments,” he said, adding that the revised policy aims to ensure that farmers receive fair compensation when their land is acquired.

Yadav also mentioned that the overall land valuation guideline has been increased, with a 16% rise earlier and an additional 13% increase this year. He said these changes would make compensation more realistic and beneficial for farmers.

The Chief Minister noted that inadequate compensation had earlier led to delays in important infrastructure and development projects, as land acquisition often became a challenge. With the new policy, the government hopes to strike a balance between development needs and farmers’ interests.

He emphasised that the decision will not only support farmers financially but also help speed up development projects across the state, as fair compensation is likely to reduce disputes and resistance.

The move is being seen as a significant policy change, especially in a state where agriculture plays a key role in the economy and a large population depends on farming for livelihood.

Mohan Yadav said the decision will prove highly effective for farmers, ensuring better financial security while also supporting the state’s development goals.
