Bhopal: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav on Tuesday inaugurated a special session for young legislators from three states—Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Chhattisgarh—at the Madhya Pradesh Assembly in Bhopal. The initiative brought together Members of Legislative Assembly (MLAs) under the age of 45 with the aim of encouraging dialogue, leadership, and collaborative policymaking among the younger generation of political leaders.
Addressing the gathering, Chief Minister Mohan Yadav highlighted the significance of empowering young leaders in the democratic process. He stated that the session was organized to provide a platform where young MLAs from the three neighboring states could come together, exchange ideas, and discuss governance challenges and opportunities facing the region.
“Young MLAs from Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, and Chhattisgarh who are below 45 years of age were organized in the Madhya Pradesh Assembly. We all inaugurated the session of young MLAs,” Yadav said while speaking about the event. He further expressed his appreciation for the initiative, noting that such platforms play an important role in strengthening democratic values and nurturing future leadership.
The Chief Minister emphasized that the involvement of young legislators in governance is essential for bringing fresh perspectives and innovative ideas into policymaking. According to him, the participation of youth in legislative processes helps ensure that policies remain relevant to the aspirations and needs of the younger generation.
During the session, participating MLAs were expected to engage in discussions on a range of issues including governance reforms, youth empowerment, economic development, education, employment opportunities, and technological innovation in administration. The event was designed to promote inter-state cooperation and encourage the exchange of best practices in governance among the three states.
Mohan Yadav also noted that Madhya Pradesh takes pride in hosting such a gathering and reiterated the state government’s commitment to supporting initiatives that strengthen democratic institutions. He said that the event reflects the spirit of collaboration among states and showcases the importance of collective leadership in addressing regional and national challenges.
The Chief Minister further stated that India’s democratic framework becomes stronger when young leaders actively participate in governance and policy discussions. By providing them with opportunities to deliberate on key issues, such initiatives help prepare them for greater responsibilities in the future.
Political observers have noted that platforms like the young legislators’ session can help foster stronger connections between leaders from different states while also encouraging constructive debate on public policy. It also allows emerging leaders to share experiences from their respective constituencies and learn from each other’s approaches to governance.
Participants reportedly welcomed the initiative, describing it as an important step toward building a network of young leaders who can collaborate on issues affecting their states and the nation. Many also expressed hope that such sessions would continue in the future and expand to include more states and participants.
Concluding his remarks, Chief Minister Mohan Yadav appreciated the efforts behind organizing the event and conveyed the Madhya Pradesh government’s support for similar initiatives that aim to strengthen democratic dialogue among young public representatives.
The session in Bhopal is being viewed as a constructive step toward encouraging the next generation of lawmakers to play a proactive role in shaping policies and driving development across central India.
